When you use our tools, you select files (PDFs, images, videos, documents, etc.) for processing. These files are:

Processed entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device
Used solely to provide the requested service (conversion, editing, compression, etc.)
Never stored on our servers, never sold, and never used for advertising targeting
The single exception is legacy DOC-to-DOCX conversion, which needs one-time server-side parsing (see Section 3.2)

We do not intentionally access, view, or use your file content for any purpose other than providing the requested service.

1.2 Technical Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

IP Address: For security monitoring, abuse prevention, and analytics
Browser Type and Version: To ensure compatibility and optimize performance
Device Information: Operating system, screen resolution, and device type
Usage Data: Pages visited, tools used, timestamps, and interaction patterns

3. File Handling & Data Retention

3.1 In-Browser Processing (All Tools Except One)

Every tool on FirstClickTools — PDF converters, image compressors, video converters, background removal, and file converters — processes files entirely in your browser using local, client-side technology. Your files never leave your device, are never transmitted to us, and are never stored on our servers. Once you close the tab, your files are gone. We technically cannot access your files, because we never receive them.

3.2 The Single Exception: Legacy DOC-to-DOCX

Only one tool — converting legacy binary .doc files to modern .docx — requires one-time server-side parsing, because the legacy Word format cannot be read by browsers. These files are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS (SSL), converted once, and then automatically deleted immediately. They are never stored, never backed up, and never used for any other purpose.

Tip: if your file is already in .docx, .txt, .csv, or any other supported format, it is processed 100% in your browser with no server involved at all.

4. Information Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or uploaded files to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share information with:

Service Providers: Hosting and CDN providers (such as Vercel) and infrastructure partners necessary to deliver the website itself — they never receive your files, because files never leave your browser
Analytics Providers: Google Analytics to understand usage patterns
Advertising Partners: Google AdSense and DoubleClick to serve and measure ads (see Section 4A below)
Legal Authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety

Third-party services may have their own privacy policies governing their use of your information.

4A. Advertising & Google AdSense

To keep FirstClickTools 100% free, we display advertisements supplied by our third-party advertising partner, Google AdSense (operated by Google LLC). Our ads.txt file publicly authorizes google.com, pub-5959550138147029, DIRECT to sell our ad inventory.

Google's use of cookies: Google uses cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our Service.
Personalized vs. non-personalized ads: Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK) and your consent choice, you may receive personalized or non-personalized ads.
Opt-out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices. Users in the EEA/UK can change consent at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in our footer.
No file content used for ads: Files you process with our tools never leave your device, are never sold, and are never used for ad targeting.

Important: No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

6. International Users

Our website is served through hosting and CDN infrastructure that may operate in various jurisdictions. Because your files are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded, no file content is ever transferred across borders. Only standard website data (analytics, ad cookies, contact messages) may be processed outside your residence, subject to different data protection laws.
