Your Privacy Rights

GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, and California (CCPA/CPRA) — Last Updated: September 16, 2026

FirstClickTools processes files 100% in your browser — your documents are never uploaded to our servers, so there is no file-based personal data for us to access, share, or delete. The limited data we do handle (analytics, advertising cookies) is described in our Privacy Policy, and this page explains the rights you hold over it.

EU & UK Visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (limited to cookie/analytics identifiers; we hold no account or file data).
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object — limit or object to processing, including objecting to analytics cookies at any time via the Cookie Settings link in our footer.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing relies on consent (advertising and analytics cookies), withdraw it anytime through Cookie Settings; withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.

Legal bases we rely on: consent for advertising/analytics cookies, and legitimate interests (site security, aggregated performance measurement) for basic server logs. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK or your national DPA in the EU).

California Visitors (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising:

  • Know & access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you in the last 12 months.
  • Delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale/sharing — advertising cookies from Google AdSense may constitute "sharing" under California law. Opt out anytime via the Cookie Settings link in the footer, which disables advertising cookies.
  • Non-discrimination — we will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights; the Service remains free either way.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Contact us via our contact page with the subject "Privacy Request" and tell us which right you are exercising. We respond within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA). Because the Service requires no accounts, we may ask for the minimum information needed to verify your request — such as the approximate date of your visit — and nothing more. For immediate cookie control, use Cookie Settings in the footer or clear your browser cookies directly.

Data retention: cookie identifiers expire per the lifetimes stated in our Privacy Policy; server logs are aggregated and retained no longer than 12 months. Because files never leave your device, there is no document retention at all.
